It made good reading for Sitecore. For the fifth year running Gartner have placed Sitecore in the Leader section of their Magic Quadrant for Web Content Management (WCM) and Gartner identified Sitecore as the leader for completeness of vision.
Gartner define leaders as: Leaders should drive market transformation. Leaders have the highest combined scores for Ability to Execute and Completeness of Vision. They are doing well and are prepared for the future with a clear vision and a through appreciation of the broader context of digital business.
The Gartner Magic Quadrant for Web Content Management is a valuable resource, used by enterprises when they’re evaluating how best to deliver their digital strategy. Sitecore and Adobe are clearly out front in the leaders’ quadrant, with Sitecore ahead for Completeness of Vision and Abode edging it on Ability to Execute.
Completeness of Vision focuses on the vendor’s potential and points to its future chance of success while the Ability to Execute measures how well a vendor sells and supports its WCM products and services globally.
This is very significant for Sitecore. It demonstrates their ability to compete with and beat Web Content Management offerings from Microsoft, SDL, HP, Oracle, Adobe and IBM.
The recent releases of Sitecore 7.5 and Sitecore 8 should further strengthen Sitecores position within the mid-tier and enterprise business market.
